Absolutely Fabulous! The highlight of our second visit to Krakow was the commie tour of Nova Huta, in the company of the wonderful Joanna. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining and made the 4 hour tour feel like 15 minutes. If you are in Krakow with limited time, skip the Salt mines and take a tour. You will not regret it. See you next year for another crazy tour.

My friend and I made the wide decision to take the Crazy Guides Communism Tours during our July Krakow trip. As promised, our fresh-off-the-blocks young tour guide, Blazej, picked us up in an appropriately "lemon-yellow" Cold War vintage, Trabant, the iconic symbol of the good old Communist days. Yes, there were even booster cables in the back seats, just in case. Down the road we pusted while Blazej provided us with an exuberant insightful explanation of the fine piece of mechanical engineering we were driving in, where we were headed, and other points of interest. When we arrived at our destination, which was a restaurant stuck in the Cold War era, we were immediately offered - what else - pickles + vodka. Blazej gave us a thorough and engaging historical overview of Communism and its impact on the local community. We were then lead through a central plaza area, a site that Stalin had promised would be an architectural monument for Communism and all the glories it represented. As Blazej pointed out, the Communist propaganda machine promised a lot, yet delivered very little. The rest of the tour was hilarious, entertaining and the highlight of our trip to Krakow. Do yourself a favour and give yourself over to the Crazy Guides Tour and get a 3-hour taste of Communism.

The tour exceeded expectations - educational and fun. Joanna was an excellent guide - friendly and knowledgeable (as well as a confident driver of the Trabant!) I would highly recommend a communism tour to anyone visiting Krakow.
